Benefits Coordinator

Overview:

We’re hiring a Benefits Coordinator to support the day-to-day administration of our employee benefits programs and serve as a helpful, reliable resource for employees.

You’ll be the person people go to when they have questions, need help, or just want someone to explain things in a way that actually makes sense. You’ll handle enrollments, updates, and ensure everything stays accurate and organized behind the scenes.

Benefits can be confusing. Deductibles, coinsurance, out-of-pocket maximums… they all sound important, and most people aren’t totally sure what the difference is.

That’s where you come in.

If you’ve worked in benefits before (either internally at a company or on the insurance side), you already know how important the details are… and how much people rely on you to get things right.

At the end of the day, this role is about being helpful, being accurate, and making something complicated feel simple.

This role is designated as hybrid. Initial training and onboarding will take place on-site in our Post Falls, ID office to ensure you’re set up for success. After approximately the first 30 days, you’ll have the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week, depending on team needs and performance.

Wage:

$28-30/ hour

Benefits:

  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental and vision for employees
  • Annual review with raise option
  • 22 days Paid Time Off accrued annually, and 4 holidays
    • After 3 years, PTO increases to 29 days. Employees transition to flexible time off after 5 years with the company—not accrued, not capped, take time off when you want
    • The 4 holidays are: New Year’s Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Up to 6% company matching 401(k) with no vesting period
  • Quarterly allowance
    • Use to make your remote work set up more comfortable, for continuing education classes, a plant for your desk, coffee for your coworker, a massage for yourself... really, whatever
  • Open concept office with friendly coworkers
  • Creative environment where you can make a difference
  • No dumb benefits like free dog walking on the weekends that snobby hipster places have to make you feel cool, but mathematically won't cost the company much money because you won't use it
  • Trail Mix Bar --- oh yeah

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to employee questions about benefits and leave of absence (clearly and helpfully)
  • Process enrollments, qualifying life events, and benefit changes accurately
  • Support open enrollment from start to finish
  • Work with vendors and insurance carriers to resolve issues
  • Maintain clean, organized, and accurate records
  • Help ensure compliance with benefits-related regulations
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Identify issues and fix them before they become bigger problems

Requirements:

  • 1+ years supporting employee benefits administration (enrollments, changes, employee support) or experience in claims, member services, or benefits support at an insurance company or broker
  • Exposure to open enrollment, qualifying life events, or leave of absence processes
  • Experience working in an HRIS or benefits administration system
  • Understanding of how medical, dental, and vision plans work
  • Experience reviewing, processing, or explaining claims or coverage
  • Customer service mindset
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Why you might like this job:

You’ll like this job if you enjoy helping people and don’t get frustrated when things don’t make sense right away.

Benefits issues rarely come in clean. It’s usually more like:

“Why was this denied?”

“Why is this bill so high?”

“Why did I get three different answers?”

And the honest answer is… it depends.

Your job is to figure it out.

You connect the dots, get the right information, and help people understand what’s actually going on. No passing them around, no vague answers, just real help.

If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, you’ll probably like it here.
