Finance Intern
Overview:
Corporate Tools is offering a Finance Internship. This position is required to be in-office and is Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week, located in our Spokane, WA office with some days working out of our Post Falls, ID office.
This role is perfect for someone that wants to dip their calculators into different corners of the finance world. From crunching numbers with the Corporate Accounting team to exploring strategy with Financial Planning, you’ll rotate through key departments like Procurement, Tax, Payroll, and more. You won’t walk away from this internship saying the experience was too focused.
You’ll work alongside experienced teams and see how the numbers drive business decisions — and pick up some valuable skills along the way. Think of it as your backstage pass to the finance world, where you’ll dive into real projects and maybe even uncover a few spreadsheet secrets. By the end, you’ll be juggling numbers like a circus performer — minus the clown shoes.
Duration: The internship will be 12 weeks, May 27th – August 14th.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Wage:
$21/hr
Responsibilities:
- Help our Procurement Department with supplier sourcing, supplier onboarding, relationship management, learning about basic negotiations and contract management.
- Understand numbers as they relate to the business and track Key Performance Indicators.
- Understanding estimated tax payments and compliance and audits with tax planning.
- Turn complex numbers into clean and audit ready magic.
- Learn about cash receipts, cash payments, AP, treasury management.
- Collaborate with all other departments to help drive business decisions.
- Help with financial forecasting, reporting on budget vs actual.
- Understanding the true cost of wage and benefit planning.
- Report payroll costs in an effective way to help managers.
Requirements:
- Are at least a sophomore in college and majoring in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Will be available for all 12 weeks of the internship duration.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, data organization).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Exposure to financial software/tools (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Familiarity with financial statements and basic accounting principles.
